  • Monday...

Reading that the economy is possibly on the rebound now was the best bit of news I had this morning. But it got me thinking again about our lives here and what will happen next.

The whole retrenchment scare we experienced earlier was truly like having a bucket of cold water dumped on us. Our enthusiasm and excitement over our new life here fizzled out a little and we were left feeling very much unsettled. I did not manage the possibility of having to return to Malaysia / Singapore to start over again very well, I must say.

    That possibility downright sucked.

The sad part is, we're still on edge right now as the whole job situation here is still quite uncertain. We will probably have to live with this feeling for a long time to come.

Such is the life of an immigrant, I guess.

same here...... job security is thing in the past.

I hate to have this feelings too............. I was thinking of going back to Msia in couple of years.....
because let say the economy is going from bad to worse... atleast I will still have my friend and family
to help me "emotionally" and to hang out with...

but being just by myself over here....sigh...if things get worse..... takder kawan nak mengadu and stuff like that...

i dont know....I love being able to have the oppurtunity to live here...but at the same time I felt jolt of loneliness and
    homesick every now and then.

@angel241 - Hmm, I think in a couple of years' time the US economy should be OK already. Just like in the UK. Will your hubby agree to go back to Malaysia with you? Afterall he's not from Malaysia, so mungkin susah sikit. I'm sure you've got a couple of friends there at least right?

I guess with people like us, once we start our own families wherever we are, we won't feel so lonely or homesick anymore. We'll be too busy and tired to think about Malaysia!

Hi June, Been a while since I've blogged all due to the amount of work and the amount of travel I'm doing and seriously, it's taking it's toll. I've down with sick, travelling around and also doing alot of other things and hopefully things are getting better.

I'm not sure also about the economy. I guess everyone is worried about their job and so am I. I am worried to some extend that I might loose my job and I have to go home. Of course, I don't want to. I'm enjoying every single second of my life over here and I don't want to give up on anything easily.

I'll be back blogging soon.. for the mean time, stay strong and stay happy. We shall be in contact ya!

@pwho - Yeah, you've been quiet for so long! Did you manage to go to Rome like you planned? Yes, do blog again soon. Your blog is already growing cobwebs...heh heh.

@farahamizah - I read that Australia is also imposing stricter rules on immigrants like the UK. :(  I guess it's the same for foreigners everywhere. Even if you go back to Malaysia, no guarantees that your life will be better. In fact, it might be worse. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that we stay afloat until things pick up once again.

@June_D - Well, I did and more places are coming up thanks to the super cheap deals I've found in RyanAir. I know the airline is crap but as long as it gets me there, I don't really give a damn about anything. I'll flying home in a week timefro 2 weeks holiday and I'll be going to Sweden end of next month for a weekend and end of June, I'll by flying to Belfast for another weekend getaway. U know how much I like to travel... so how've u been in Shrewsbury with Daniel? Anything interesting, lately?

  • June_D

@pwho - Hey, sorry for the later reply. Haven't logged on to xanga for a while, quite a bit of things to do here. Well, nothing really interesting in shrewsbury at the moment. :)  Still the same, except now the ducks have got ducklings and they're really cute! Honestly, don't you get really tired travelling so much??

Yeah, the US is trying to improve the economy, so we shut down GM.  I don't get it.  Those cars make a lot of money.
